The car pages are information I find about them but this is My knowledge development blog and really anything I do that relates to cars I will blog here. A couple days ago I went to my mechanic's shop and worked on my dad's truck. A couple weeks back I worked on my mom's car. I have been learning a lot from doing this. I change the oil, add air to the wheels, reset the computer, change the oil filter. He has been teaching me about the engine and certain other stuff about the car. I get really dirty but I learn fast! My dad's truck had some wheel problems: the front ones were way more worn down then the back 2 so we took off the tires and swapped them so that they got more of an even wear. I have been talking to him about cars I should get and he despises German cars. His reasoning being that they are badly made, are expensive to repair, and need a lot of repairs, and have a super high depreciation rate due to their reliability at an older age. I agree with him. My dad's truck also needed a new battery because the alternator has been giving it more electricity even when it is fully charged. It needs somewhere to release that added energy so it does that in the form of heat and that means That it frys the battery. They only const like 150 at Costco and have a good warranty so that’s what he will do. That was pretty much it for the truck.
My second blog is going to be about doing an oil change (from my limited knowledge perspective.) So you start off with draining the old oil. You jack up the car and grab the oil catcher. You unscrew the oil pan screw which is under the engine.Oil might splatter and get on you but most of it should drain. Once it is done draining, then you drag the oil pan under the oil filter, and unscrew that. A bit more oil will drop out from that and then you grab the old oil filter which is not too big and then you replace it and screw it back in. Then you lower the car and open up the oil spout at the top of the engine and pour the amount needed. To check if it is enough you graph the oil stick and wipe it off first so you don’t read it wrong due to the old oil splattering on it. Then you dip it back into how much oil you need. If it comes up the the first line it’s needs more but if it is between the first and second then you are good. Start the engine to get it circulating and that is it. I think.. I am probably missing some steps and info, but That is what I can pull out of my mind at this point.
My third Blog is about me buying a car. I think that later today I am going to buy a car. I have been looking at facebook for a while and I saw a Honda civic pop up that seemed good. It is a 1997 honda civic EX that has 200k miles. I know that is a lot of miles but it is a honda civic and those last till around 300k. here are some pictures of the car:
